The Direct Access Scheme (D.A.S.)

Those who do not already hold a full motorcycle licence may, after taking a CBT and Theory Test, take the practical test on a motorcycle with a power output of at least 35kW (46.6bhp).
This will entitle you to ride any motorcycle.

Learner motocyclists aged 21 or over may choose:
- either of the options open to riders under 21, or
- Direct Access to larger bikes of 25kW.

So that learners aged 21 and over may practise for the larger motocycle test, they may ride any motorcycle on the road which exceeds the UK learner specification but only when accompanied (on another mototcycle) by an approved motorcycle instructor.

Doing the Direct Access Scheme with Bike Sense will give you a number of days varied and skilled riding in preparation for your Practical Test. Over the course of these days, you will ride in radio contact with a Bike Sense instructor at all times, learning road skills and real-life situations such as emergency braking, road sense, manouevering, advance perception of road hazards, and much more. After intense riding on a larger biking you will be prepared to go on and do your Practical test with an examiner.

Our DAS training is some of the best and we guarantee that all that will be asked of you in the Practical Test would have been covered by our expert instructors in the preceding days of rider training.

After completing your Bike Sense Direct Access Scheme and successfully passing your Practical Test, you can immediately ride any size motorcycle without learner restrictions.
